About BHIHF

Welcome to the Website of the Brighton and Hove Integrated Health Forum.
Complementary and Alternative therapies are becoming ever more popular and increasingly accepted both by the public and conventional therapists. Also the distinction amongst complementary, alternative and conventional treatments is beginning to become blurred as many practitioners work in a more ‘holistic’ way.
For many practitioners working in the conventional arena such as doctors, nurses, physiotherapists etc. there is a willingness to embrace different treatment strategies, but a lack of information on which to base possible referrals.
It is against this background that the Brighton and Hove Integrated Health Forum (BHIHF) was set up. The aim of the Forum is to raise awareness amongst practitioners from all backgrounds about the developments in both complementary and conventional medicine in order to promote knowledge and integration of healthcare within the NHS and local healthcare system. Currently we have a number of General Practitioners, acupuncturists, pharmacists, homeopaths, herbalists, hypnotherapists, nurses and others. BHIHF is a non-profit organisation which at present has no sponsorship.
The Forum will provide six educational meetings a year for interested health professionals from a wide range of disciplines. The meetings will provide accredited Continuing Professional Development for members. These will be a mix of member led educational sessions (i.e. case studies/ recent research finding presentations) and outside lectures.
Membership for 2009 will cost £15 for the year or £5 per meeting (Pay at the meeting)
Certificates will be issued for educational sessions attended.
If you would like further details about the forum or for an application form please e-mail; admin@bhihf.org
